1. Description of Service
Winnie is a personal financial planning app that helps you track savings goals, create savings plans, view financial projections, and optionally collaborate with a partner. Winnie offers both a free tier and a premium subscription (Winnie+).
Winnie is a planning and tracking tool. It does not connect to banks, brokerages, or any financial institution. All financial information is entered manually by you.

2. Financial Disclaimer
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Winnie is not a financial advisor, broker, dealer, bank, or financial institution. Winnie does not provide financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any other professional financial guidance.
- No investment advice. Nothing in Winnie constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.
- No bank linking. Winnie never connects to your bank accounts, credit cards, or brokerage accounts. All data is entered by you.
- No fund management. Winnie does not hold, manage, transfer, or have access to your money in any way.
- Simplified projections only. Winnie's savings projections and calculations use simplified assumptions for illustrative purposes:
- - Stock market returns: 7% annual average
- - High-yield savings account (HYSA): 3.5% annual return
- - Inflation: 3% annual rate
These are simplified estimates. Actual returns will vary. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Markets can lose value. These projections are not predictions and should not be relied upon for financial decision-making. - No fiduciary relationship. Your use of Winnie does not create a fiduciary, advisory, or professional relationship between you and Winnie or its operator. - Consult a professional. Before making financial decisions, consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or other appropriate expert. - You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Winnie provides tools to help you plan and track, but all decisions and their consequences are yours.

3. Accounts and Registration
- Guest mode. You may use Winnie without creating an account. In guest mode, your data is stored only on your device. Guest mode does not support cloud sync or partner features.
- Account creation. To use cloud sync, partner features, and access your data across devices, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple or email and password.
- Accurate information. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- One account per person. Each person should maintain only one Winnie account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits is a violation of these terms.

4. Partner Features
Winnie allows two people to link their accounts as partners to collaborate on financial planning.
Linking
Partners link by sharing an invite code generated within the app. Invite codes expire after 7 days.
Shared Data
When linked, partners share: - Savings goals (names, target amounts, current balances, contributions) - Savings plans and projections - Activity history - Financial profile information (income, savings rate) - Display name and avatar
Secret Goals
Goals marked as "secret" are never shared with your partner. This is enforced at the database level, not just in the app's interface.
Consent
By linking with a partner, both parties consent to the sharing of the data described above. Either partner may leave the partnership at any time.
Leaving a Partnership
When a partner leaves: - The departing partner's user data is removed from the shared space - The remaining partner retains all shared goals, contributions, plans, and activity history - Contributions made by the departing partner during the partnership remain visible to the remaining partner - The departing partner's secret goals are deleted if they delete their account

5. Subscriptions and Purchases (Winnie+)

Prices are set by Apple and may vary by storefront, currency, taxes, and promotional eligibility. The final price is always shown in-app and in the Apple purchase sheet before you confirm payment.
Auto-Renewal
Weekly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.
Payment
All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. Winnie does not directly collect or process payment information. Subscription entitlements are managed through RevenueCat, a third-party service that validates purchases with Apple and determines your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or financial information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Lifetime Purchase
The Winnie+ Lifetime purchase provides access to premium features for the lifetime of the product. "Lifetime" refers to the operational lifetime of the Winnie app and service, not the lifetime of the purchaser.
Family Sharing
All Winnie+ plans support Apple Family Sharing. Family members in your Family Sharing group may access Winnie+ features at no additional cost.
Partner Sharing
When a Winnie+ subscriber is linked with a partner, the partner receives access to premium features at no additional cost, for as long as both the subscription and the partnership remain active. If the subscribing partner cancels their subscription or the partnership is dissolved, the non-subscribing partner loses access to premium features.
Free Tier
Without a Winnie+ subscription, you may use Winnie with the following limits:
- Maximum of 2 savings goals
- Maximum of 1 savings plan
- Partner collaboration requires an active Winnie+ entitlement (either yours or your linked partner's)
- No charts or visualizations
- 3 goal color options
Refunds
Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. To request a refund, visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Winnie for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt Winnie's infrastructure, servers, or networks
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other accounts, or systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the service
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Share your account credentials with others
- Create multiple accounts to bypass free tier limits or other restrictions

7. Intellectual Property
Winnie, including its design, code, graphics, illustrations, and content, is owned by Winnie (sole proprietorship of Austin Beckett) and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. "Winnie" is a trademark of Austin Beckett.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Winnie on your personal devices for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
Your data belongs to you. You retain full ownership of all financial information, goals, plans, and other content you enter into Winnie.

8. Account Termination and Deletion
By You
You may delete your account at any time from Profile > Account Info within the app. Account deletion is immediate and permanent. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is deleted and what is retained for your partner (if applicable).
By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Use, including but not limited to engaging in prohibited activities described in "Acceptable Use" above.
Subscriptions Upon Deletion
Deleting your Winnie account does not automatically cancel your Apple App Store subscription. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately through Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your device. Failure to cancel may result in continued billing by Apple.

9. Disclaimers
WINNIE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- Winnie will be available at all times or without interruption
- The app will be free of errors or defects
- Financial projections or calculations will be accurate or reflect actual outcomes
- Your data will be preserved indefinitely
We recommend maintaining your own personal records of important financial information.

10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- Winnie and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the app.
- Winnie and its operator shall not be liable for any financial losses, missed opportunities, or adverse financial outcomes resulting from reliance on information, projections, or calculations provided by the app.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or your use of Winnie shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for Winnie+ in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Winnie and its operator (Austin Beckett) from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of Winnie
- Your violation of these Terms
- Financial decisions you make based on information provided by Winnie
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms.
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at support@winnie-app.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve your concern within thirty (30) days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within this period, either party may proceed with formal legal action.

13. Apple-Specific Terms
The following terms apply to your use of Winnie as downloaded from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms of Use are between you and Winnie (Austin Beckett), not between you and Apple Inc. Winnie, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Winnie.
- In the event of any failure of Winnie to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Winnie.
- Winnie, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including but not limited to product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Winnie, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Use. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Winnie after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Winnie regarding your use of the app, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
